Records of corpse permits, 1898-1912.

Records of permits issued for the transportation of corpses, primarily to other states, although some were intrastate shipments. Each register entry lists number and date of permit, name of deceased, date and cause of death, destination, name of medical attendant, name of health officer, name of undertaker, name of escort, and railroad company transporting the body. Individual entries cease in May 1905, after which there are only monthly totals for each railroad.
